Unsolicited sample — produced without engagement; not client work · Re-audited 2026-07-23 with the current engine: 18/20, unchanged.
getmaude.com scored 18/20. No agent can find a payments page.
Taz ran a public-page-only Store Readiness Audit on getmaude.com on 2026-07-12, as an unsolicited proof-of-work sample. No login, no write access, no relationship with Maude. Read-only crawl of publicly reachable pages only.
What we found
The two gaps behind the 18/20 score were payments and FAQ — the same pattern we've seen across every modern Shopify store we've sampled: product data and structured data are already solved, but agent-answerable policy content is not.
"No clear, findable payments policy on crawled pages (https://www.getmaude.com/)." — Executive Summary, audit-report.md "Publish a specific payments page and link it from footer and product pages" — flagged High priority, the only High-priority finding in this audit.
The free-shipping threshold also only lives in a cart banner, not a structured shipping page:
"We offer free U.S. shipping on orders over $85. [Standard delivery time and international shipping — client must confirm.]"
The cross-store pattern
Across four real independent Shopify stores we sampled (getmaude, thevintagetwin, ohhdeer, deathwishcoffee — mean 15.8/20), the specific, repeatable gap wasn't messy product pages — it was payments and FAQ, which averaged 0.50/2 and 0.25/2 respectively across the sample, against a near-perfect 2.00/2 on product data. That's a targeted fix, not a rebuild: an AI shopping agent asked "how do I pay?" on getmaude.com today has no page to point to.
- Product titles, descriptions, variants, category guidance, contact, schema — mean 2.00 / 2 across all four stores
- Returns — mean 1.75 / 2
- Shipping — mean 1.25 / 2
- Payments availability — mean 0.50 / 2
- FAQ — mean 0.25 / 2
Source: Taz internal proof run against four public storefronts (2026-07-12), read-only crawls, declared audit user-agent, robots.txt respected. Three additional stores were excluded from the mean because their crawl was partial or blocked (robots disallowed policy pages, or the page was JS-gated) — not counted toward the average above.
Why it matters
Product data and structured data are a solved problem on modern Shopify. The real, systematic gap is agent-answerable policy and FAQ content — payment methods, shipping specifics, and a parseable FAQ. That is where AI shopping agents and support bots actually fail, and it is a one-page fix, not a catalog rebuild.
