Unsolicited samples — produced without engagement; not client work

Three real audits on three real stores, run without being asked.

Taz Store Readiness Audits check whether a storefront's public pages can be read and answered correctly by an AI shopping agent or support bot — product clarity, variants, shipping, returns, payments, FAQ, and structured data, 10 checks scored out of 20. Each audit below is a public-page-only, read-only crawl we ran unprompted, with no login, no write access, and no relationship with the store. Real scores, real findings, quoted directly from the report.

The samples

Read the finding, then the source line it came from.

allbirds.com — 19/20

Rich structured data everywhere. The one gap: no findable FAQ page.

anveshan.farm — 19/20

Agent-forward store, but its own returns policy is missing a contact email.

getmaude.com — 18/20

No agent can find a payments page — the only High-priority finding.

Re-audited July 2026. All three samples were re-run with the current audit engine on 2026-07-23, alongside six more real storefronts (blume, brooklinen, frankbody, jonesroadbeauty, packagefreeshop, vahdam — scores 12–19/20), public pages only, robots.txt honored on every fetch. Re-audit scores: allbirds 19/20 (unchanged), anveshan 19/20 (unchanged), getmaude 18/20 (unchanged). Same discipline as the originals: unsolicited, read-only, no engagement with any of these companies.

The cross-store pattern

Across four real independent Shopify stores we sampled (getmaude, thevintagetwin, ohhdeer, deathwishcoffee — mean 15.8/20), the specific, repeatable gap wasn't messy product pages — it was payments and FAQ. That's a targeted fix, not a rebuild: an AI shopping agent asked "how do I pay?" today has no page to point to on most of these stores.

  • Product titles, descriptions, variants, category guidance, contact, schema — mean 2.00 / 2 across all four stores
  • Returns — mean 1.75 / 2
  • Shipping — mean 1.25 / 2
  • Payments availability — mean 0.50 / 2
  • FAQ — mean 0.25 / 2

Source: Taz internal proof run against four public storefronts (2026-07-12), read-only crawls, declared audit user-agent, robots.txt respected. Three additional stores were excluded from the mean because their crawl was partial or blocked (robots disallowed policy pages, or the page returned no content) — not counted toward the average above.

Product data and structured data are a solved problem on modern Shopify. The real, systematic gap is agent-answerable policy and FAQ content — payment methods, shipping specifics, and a parseable FAQ. That is where AI shopping agents and support bots actually fail.
